CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The calendar is counting down the days to attend free business fundamentals workshops offered by West Virginia Small Business Development Center (WV SBDC). Registration for workshops in May are free, thanks to the first-time sponsorship program between WV SBDC and First Microloan of West Virginia. The sponsorship allows WV SBDC to offer the workshops without the standard $35 registration fee. Participants are still encouraged to register so coaches can anticipate attendance.

Participants can still register for free workshops for the remainder of May. Workshop times, locations and registration information are available on the WV SBDC website www.wvsbdc.com training calendar. Scheduled classes include:

The WV SBDC workshops are designed specifically for people who are thinking of starting a business or have had a business for one year or less. The workshop covers topics such as how to develop a business plan, how to apply for a loan, and other essential information an entrepreneur needs to make their business a success.

After the participant completes an online or in-person workshop, the entrepreneur may want to take the next step by scheduling a meeting with a WV SBDC business coach. The confidential meetings are one-on-one between the entrepreneur and the WV SBDC business coach.

WV SBDC live and online free workshops in May are sponsored by First Microloan of West Virginia. Register by visiting www.wvsbdc.com and clicking “Training Calendar.”
