The Herbert Hoover VS. Sissonville “Alumni” basketball game will take place this Saturday April 7th, at 2:00 p.m. The game will be held at Sissonville High School and all of the proceeds made will go to Nolan Woodrum and his medical expenses as well as his recovery. Nolan Woodrum had an appendicitis attack in the middle of his senior season which caused him to miss ten games. Doctors then found a slow growing cancerous tumor in his large intestine and colon. This game is a way that I could do my part and try to help his family through such a rough time. They have had to make numerous trips to Pittsburgh and Nolan just had a successful surgery last week and was announced as cancer free! The game will be catered by Chick Fila A and Husson’s Pizza, along with other foods at the concession stand.
The Herbert Hoover squad will consist of Cody Morris, Josh Stricker, Chase King, Charlton Gandee, Matthew Justice, Aaron Burdette, and Josh Blackwell. The Sissonville team will consist of Zach Null, Cody Jarrett, Caleb Wilkinson, Nate Samples, Austin Crawford, Ryan Kelley, Paul Wakefield, Andrew Holmes, Bryce Taylor, and Jodi Eastwood. This will be a fun and exciting game. The more people that come out to watch then the more money we can raise for Nolan Woodrum and his family!
