CLENDENIN, W.Va. (WSAZ) — They’ve got the books and computers and now they’re one step closer to having the space.
Kanawha County Library Board Members voted Monday to enter into a lease agreement to open up a new Clendenin branch.
The agreement would give them space on the first floor of the former Clendenin Middle School.
The former branch was destroyed in the June 2016 flooding.
The new branch location would be a temporary fix. Board members say they’re happy to be able to provide the town with library services again.
“We’re very excited to be going back into Clendenin, it’s going to take us a little while to get there, but this is the first and most important step,” Kanawha County Library Director Alan Englebert said.
There is no set date at this time for when the branch will open.
Board members said they are still in lease negotiations.
