CLENDENIN, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — Police said the man accused of stealing a car from a Clendenin family has been arrested in Roane County.
The 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was donated to Kelly Cole’s family after they lost four vehicles in the June 2016 flood. Clendenin police said David Andrew White III hopped in the vehicle Monday and drove off.
After a pursuit in the Clendenin area Tuesday, Clendenin police and Kanawha County deputies received an anonymous tip that White was near his home on Amber Ridge Road in the Walton area.
White faces several charges including grand larceny and felony fleeing. He will be arraigned in Roane County and housed in Central Regional Jail.
Kelly Cole on Monday said he was defrosting his car and stepped back inside his home for a moment and when he came back out, the car was gone.
