Gene Thomas O’Dell, 87, of Glen, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 3, 2018, at home after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Cyril Harvey O’Dell and Edith May Crites O’Dell. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Judy O’Dell, and wife, Margy Peggs O’Dell; brother, Leonard O’Dell; and great-granddaughter, Courtney O’Dell.
He was a member of Reamer Gospel Tabernacle, and an Army veteran of WWII and Korean War veteran. He worked for Queen Shoals PSD, Deep Coal Miner, and he was also an employee of Ford Motor Company.
He is survived by: children, Kimberly O’Dell (Kenneth Newhouse), Marketta O’Dell, Michael O’Dell (Tina Elswick), Jill Aplin (Carl) and Joy Layne (Thomas); sister, Ruth Price; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Reamer Gospel Tabernacle, with Rev. Clarence Deel officiating. Burial will be in O’Dell Cemetery Ovapa.
