Guy Monroe Braley, 100, of Elkview, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at CAMC Memorial after a short illness.
He was the son of the late Charles Allen Braley and Martha Jane Jarrett Braley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia L. Ginger Braley; son, Rick Braley; and 10 brothers and sisters.
He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a retired barber at City Barber Shop in Clendenin. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW.
Guy is survived by wife, Melba June Braley; daughter, Peggy Morrison (Harvey) of Milton; grandchildren, Harvey Morrison Jr. (Suzanne) and Erin LaFon (Robert II); great-grandchildren, Campbell, Madison, Julianne and Andrew.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, December 22, at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin, and the funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 22, at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin, with Rev. Ronald Kennedy officiating. American Legion Post 61 Clendenin will be performing Military Rites. Burial will be at the Belcher Cemetery Ovapa.
