Jack Dale Jackson, 86, of Clendenin, went home to be with the Lord Monday February 12, 2018, at Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness.
He was the son of the late J. B. Jackson and Clara Jarrett Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Dorsal, Jim and Bob Jackson; sisters, Maysel Weaver and Mary Louise Jackson.
Jack was a member of the Clendenin United Methodist Church. He was a retired employee Columbia Gas Transmission, J&J Drillers, Guest Petroleum. Jack was also a Korean War Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by: wife of 63 1/2 years, Leona Lamb Jackson; children, Deborah Jackson Kinder (Charlie) of St. Petersburgh, FL, Rhonda Jackson Norris (Dr. Dave) of Melbourne, FL, David Jackson (Betsy) of Bridgeport, WV, and Shelley Jackson Bess (Greg) of Sissonville, WV; grandchildren, Ashley Sponaugle, Dr. Sarah Sponaugle, Alex Sponaugle, Angelica Norris, Nathan Jackson, Joshua Jackson, Adam Jackson, Cole McKinney and Trey McKinney.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 15, at Matics Funeral Home. The Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 16, at Clendenin United Methodist Church, with Rev. Scott Ferguson officiating. Entombment will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park Big Chimney, WV, where the Clendenin American Legion Post 61 will perform Military Graveside Rites.
