On March 11, 2018 Janet Lea (Hunt) Cunningham 83, peacefully slipped away into eternity with her family by her side at Hospice Hubbard House after a brief illness.

She was born on June 20, 1934 and grew up in Clendenin. After marrying her surviving husband, of 64 years, she and Charles settled in Pinch where she spent her life raising their five children.

Being a Christian, and a member of Big Chimney Baptist Church, she planted the seed of faith in her children’s lives. After raising her children, she served as a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital working in the gift shop. She never knew a stranger and was cherished by all that she came in contact with. Known for her love and kindness, she always spread her happiness to everyone around her.

Along with her husband Charles, she is survived by her children; Dave (Kelly), Danny (Becky), Susan Ritz, Mark (Susan), Tim (Kay). Grandchildren; Melody Prouse (Jeff), Miranda Rinck (Justin), Jessica Cunningham, Amy Casto (Brandon), Michelle McElfish (Kendrick), Amanda Bailey (Justin), Nicole Jones (Joey), Charles Cunningham (Ellen), Travis Cunningham (Brittany), Stefanie Henrich (Mark), Andrew Cunningham (Eden) and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Price, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospicecare-Hubbard House 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston 25311 where she was given the best care by the kindest of people during her final days.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday March 14, 2018 at Matics Funeral Home Clendenin, WV.

There will be a graveside funeral 2:00 PM Thursday March 15, 2018 at Canterbury-Droddy Cemetery Walton, WV.
