Jo Ann Newhouse, 74, of Walton passed away quietly at home with her family by her side, on Friday, February 23, 2018.
She was born November 24, 1943 in Charleston to the late Daniel and Mattie Siders Rucker. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, flowering, cookouts and spending time with her family.
Jo Ann is survived by her son, Richard “Hoss” Newhouse and many nieces and nephews who loved her as their own Mother; brothers, Stanley Rucker and Charles Rucker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Newhouse; parents, Daniel and Mattie Rucker; sisters, Juanita Rucker and Janet Waugh; brother, Paul Rucker.
Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor James “Jimmy” Rucker officiating. Burial will be in the Newhouse Cemetery, Walton.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at the funeral home.
