John Lee Sampson, 73, of Beaufort, South Carolina and originally from Elkview, West Virginia, and husband of Karon Jean Martin Sampson, died Sunday evening, February 4, 2018, at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a son of the late John Paul Sampson and the late Myrtle Maxine Vance Sampson. John was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran. John retired from Honeywell as a service technician after 30 years of service. John enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, three daughters, Diane Sampson of Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer Hunter and her husband, Eric, of Beaufort, and Christie Crisafulli and her husband, Rennie, of Arlington, Texas; one son, John Lee Sampson II of Lexington, Illinois; five grandchildren, Ashton, Savanna, Cora, Cade and Cole; one brother, Paul “Eddie” Sampson and his wife, Mary, of Elkview, West Virginia, and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service honoring John’s life will be 2:00pm Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Landes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
