Jim Pauley, beloved father, Pa Pa, brother, son and friend, passed away peacefully Saturday evening at his Elkview, W.Va., home. This big-hearted man, who never met a stranger, was born Joseph James Pauley on November 20, 1953, in Charleston, W.Va., and called the Elk River his home for most of his life.

He grew up attending Elkview Baptist Church and graduated Herbert Hoover High School, class of 1971. Jim built a successful career in sales and earned numerous accolades in his field. He loved to golf, fish, hunt, read, watch the Mountaineers play and enjoyed a good steak. Most of all, Jim loved his friends and family with all his heart.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lora Alice Clark Pauley and Amos Hassel Pauley, and beloved sister, Betty Jane Pauley.

He is survived by his two sons, Jimmy Pauley of Elkview and Joel Pauley of Franklin, Tenn.; daughters-in-law, Leanne and Christy; five grandsons, Alex, Gage, Bailey, Avery and Bryce; granddaughter, Addison; brother-in-law, Gay Pauley; and nephew, Mike Pauley of Hurricane, W.Va.; partner in life, Sue Farley of Dunbar, W.Va., and her daughter, Krista, and grandsons, Jonathan and Justin, as well as many loving cousins, co-workers and friends.

Service will be noon Friday, April 27, at Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview. Burial will be at the Koontz Cemetery, Clendenin.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, at Hafer Funeral Home.
