Joyce Elaine Christenson, age 71, of Charleston, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at her home after a short illness.
She was born November 1, 1946, daughter of the late Earl and Gertrude Myers Glenn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bob Christenson; four sisters, Jean Kee, Ann Kennedy, Nancy Hanshaw, and Bo Glenn; four brothers, Earl Glenn, Charlie Glenn, Joe Glenn and Don Glenn.
Joyce was a graduate of Elkview High School, retired from the State of West Virginia, Division of Personnel, and was a lifelong member of Coco Advent Christian Church.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Royse and husband, David; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emily; nieces, Judy Kee Smith (Francis), and Susan Curry (Kevin); nephews, Bob Kennedy (Vickie), Joe Kennedy (Judy) and John Kennedy; and great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Harding Funerals & Cremations, with Pastor H. G. Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenn Cemetery, Coco, WV.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
