Lakin Smith Crihfield 77, of Clendenin, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Valley Center with his wife by his side.
He was born in Clio, on May 28, 1940, to the late Willie and Belva Crihfield. Lakin was the co-owner of Clendenin Service Station. Lakin was a very generous and helpful person who never met a stranger. He loved his family and greatly enjoyed his time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Lakin is preceded in death by his brothers Harold, Preston and Carroll.
Lakin is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Patty Jo Crihfield; sons, Gregory Lakin Crihfield and Johnny Allen Crihfield; daughters, Lisa Jo Craft and Laura Jane (Jon) Wetherholt; brothers, Benjamin Elton (Joan) Crihfield; step-sister, Judi (John) Hildreth; grandchildren, Tracy M. (Tressa) Crihfield, Christina (Matt) Ray, Tyler Crihfield, Brittany (Jeff) Hammons, Seth Crihfield, Adam Craft, Eric Craft, Josh (Sophia)Wetherholt, and Steven Wetherholt and eight great grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, December 7, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Board Cemetery, Clendenin.Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff of Valley Center for the loving care they provided him over the past five years.
