Nancy Virginia (Oblak) Moore, 64, of Elkview, died unexpectedly on February 27, 2018.

She was born on May 28, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, Pa. Nancy graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s degree. After moving to West Virginia, she worked as a teacher at Walton Elementary, as well as middle and high schools in Roane County. She was a winner of the 1999 Milken Educator Award.

She had an abiding interest in genealogy and enjoyed spending time with her dogs and bird and was a faithful member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Charleston.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Alison (Matthew) Kellar; her grandchildren, Stella Kellar and Simon Kellar; her mother, Lois Oblak; her brothers, John Oblak and Tod (Jill) Oblak; her sister, Sally Oblak; and a niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Oblak; and sister-in-law, Connie Oblak.

Friends will be received 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, at the J. William McCauley Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 901 Vine Street, West Newton, Pa., where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nancy’s life.
