Rev. Hubert R. Woods, 90, of Quick, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family, to join his cherished wife of 66 years, Leola, in Heaven.
He was an “old time preacher man” that humbly served the Lord as Pastor of the Pinch Ridge Memorial Church for 43 years. He was a retired truck driver for Pennzoil with more than 40 years of service.
He was a kind, gentle, loving Dad to Sharon Huffman husband Randolph “Buzz,” Delores Huffman, Charlotte Fitzwater and husband Ken, and Patty Anderson and husband Greg; seven grandchildren, Tony, Kenny, Randy, Sara, Kayla, Holly and Lori; eight great – granddaughters and a future great – grandson.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Leola; parents, Herman and Nancy “Tiny” Woods; brothers, Leon and Ronald; and son-in-law, Rodger Huffman.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 2, at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Clarence Deel officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at the funeral home.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Hubert’s memory to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston, WV 25387.
The family would like to thank Brittany, and the other Hospice nurses that so lovingly assisted us with Daddy’s care.
