Ronald Isaac Holmes, 73, of Elkview, went home to be with the Lord December 30, 2017.
He was a born again Christian bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. He attended Union Valley Gospel Tabernacle Church Sissonville.
Ronald was a Vietnam Army veteran and a retired barber with several years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mose and Wanda Holmes; and brother, Dick Holmes.
He left behind his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Holmes of Elkview; children, Cindy Shaffer of Clendenin, Airiana Holmes of Elkview, Robbie Holmes (Courtney) of Clendenin, Ronnie Holmes (Christi) of South Charleston; brothers, Mike Holmes (Sharon), Tim Holmes (Lisa), both of Sissonville; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, many friends and extended church family.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Matics Funeral Home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin, with Pastor Rob Legg and Evangelist Robbie Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Jennings Cemetery Elkview.
