Samuel David Bailey, 90, of Pinch, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Eastbrook Center, Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Bailey, and his parents, Carl and Adabelle Bailey.
Samuel was a caring son, husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, worked nearly 50 years with WV Steel as a crane operator, was a WWII Army veteran that served in Germany, and was a member of the Charleston Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his son, T. David Bailey and wife Debbie; brothers, Lee Bailey, Mike Bailey, Bill Conn Bailey, Paul Bailey and John Bailey; sister, Anna Ruth Hawley; and grandchildren, Adam Bailey and Madelyn Bailey.
Service will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with Pastor Lee Swor and Pastor Delbert Hawley officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Mausoleum, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.
