Welda Jean Jordan, 83, of Big Chimney, passed away at home, Saturday, January 6, 2018, with her family by her side.
She was born on November 18, 1934, in Blue Creek, to the late Gilbert and Genelia Sheets Moles. Welda is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James “Jim” Jordan. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Madeline Slack, Beaulah Coffey, Kathleen Mitchell, Daris Moles, Joe Moles, Junior Moles, Charles Moles, Henry Moles, Harry Moles.
Welda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook, bake, quilt, enjoyed fishing, flea marketing, watching football and nascar.
Welda is survived by her daughters, Teresa Miller and Pete Wallace of Elkview and Terri Jordan of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Brittany (Jonathan) Abshire of Charleston, Halea (Gustavo) Solano of Zebulon, N.C., Zachary Boswell of Williamston, N.C., Jennifer Moore of Elkview; great grandsons, Owen and Dawson Abshire, Dominik Solano, and Mikael Solano, Trey Warner, Justice Warner, and Derrick Tew and nieces and nephews; sister, Pearl (Bill) Haas.
To mom’s three caregivers, Patty Carr, Loretta Rhodes, Betty Hoover, “Thank You” from the bottom of our hearts for caring so much about our mom and taking such good care of her. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Edens and Pastor Junior Newhouse officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
