SANDERSON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — Numerous first-responders and rescue agencies coordinated efforts late Saturday night in the search for a missing person in the area of Sanderson in Kanawha County.
The Pinch Volunteer Fire Department reports about 11:00 Saturday night, they were called after man had gone out with a family member and gotten stuck in the mud. The family member was able to walk out, but the other man had become lost in the woods.
Pinch fire officials say throughout the night, their crews along with Lizemore VFD searched northern areas of Sanderson, and in the morning were joined by Cedar Grove VFD.
The man was found about 1:00 Sunday afternoon, cold and wet but otherwise fine. He was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
Crews were also assisted by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, Metro 911, the WVSP Aviation Division and others.
