WALTON — Two people were arrested Friday after a vehicle was stolen and a fire was set at a residence in Roane County.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday on Ambler Ridge Road in Walton.
According to Clendenin Police, a vehicle was stolen from the residence. The victim’s son then chased the suspect, Deidre Pozzie, into Kanawha County, where she was apprehended by West Virginia State Police troopers.
During the stolen vehicle incident, an outbuilding on the victim’s property was set on fire. Police said an estimated $8,000 in damage was inflicted to both the outbuilding and the home.
Police arrested a suspect in that incident, David Andrew White III, who they said is the boyfriend of Pozzie.
After his arrest, White confessed to the Friday arson and the theft of a motorcycle on May 2, police said.
White was charged in April with grand larceny and felony fleeing. He was accused of stealing a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The two are being held in Central Regional Jail.
