Obituary-Ricky Lee Siders

Posted: Mar. 1, 2018 | Source: Matics Funeral Home

Ricky (Rick) Lee Siders of Clendenin, WV, age 54, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, February 26, 2018.

Born October 24, 1963, in Cleveland OH, Rick was the son of Orville and the late Wanda Siders.

Rick graduated from Herbert Hoover High School and Mountain State University, with a Physical Therapy Assistants degree. He worked for several Kanawha Valley skilled nursing facilities and loved helping his senior patients heal.

Rick never met a stranger and was loved by all that knew him. He loved the Cleveland Browns, his family and his friends, probably in that order. A life-long fan, Rick cheered for the Browns whether they won or lost and had orange and brown running through his veins. Maybe they can win a game for him this year. The only person he ever had said a hard word about was “ole Bill Belichick.”

Left to cherish his memory – his wife, Julia (Judy) Siders; daughter, Lisa (Archie) Monroe; son, Brian Burdette; father, Orville Siders, and his companion, Donna Siders; sisters, Sherry (Vince) Waits and Kelly (Shawn) Murdock; brother, Chuck (Anna) Siders; step-sisters, Tina Smith, Crystal Barr and Heather Smith; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 19 nieces and nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins – all who loved him fiercely.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Ruth Siders (nee Mullins); paternal grandparents, Lewis and Ona Siders; and maternal grandparents, Hubert and Ruby Mullins.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be held Friday, March 2, at Matics Funeral Home in Clendenin. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the funeral will begin at 1 p.m., with Pastor Charles Larue officiating. Burial will be in Clendenin Memorial Gardens, Clendenin, WV.

To honor Rick, the family asks that you wear your best Browns gear or the team colors to his services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Matics Funeral Home or via the GoFundMe page “Rick Siders Funeral.”
