Karen Sue Rodgers, 49, of Spencer, entered eternity with our Lord early Saturday morning, following an evening of psalms and much love. She was the daughter of Kieth and Mitsuko Fish of West Palm Beach, Florida, her dad being deceased and was survived by her mother and brother, Kevin Fish of Kailua, Hawaii.

Karen was the loving wife of 26 years to Emmil E. Rodgers III (Jay), having raised in the faith four beautifully grown children- Cecil, Connard, Hannah and Rebekah, all of Spencer.

Karen was a redeemed, long time member of the body of Christ, having come to mount Sion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, see Hebrews 12:22-23.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, January 20, at Matics Funeral Home in Clendenin. The funeral will follow the visitation at the funeral home at noon, with Pastor Jimmy Keeffer officiating. Her natural body will be placed in final rest at the Gandeeville Cemetery Gandeeville. Delbert Jones Jr., 87, of Clendenin, peacefully passed surrounded by family Sunday January 14, 2018, at Hubbard Hospice House West after a wonderful life.

Richard Leon Starcher passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, with his family by his side.

Richard was born to the late Eugene and Laura Starcher. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

Richard is survived by his brother, Ronald Starcher; sisters, Joyce (Richard) O’Connor, Renee (Gary) King and Bessie (Jeff) Ball; nieces and nephew, Justin and Kayla King, Calvin Garten, Alex Ball and Richard O’Connor Jr.; and several great-nieces and nephews.

In honor of Richard wishes, he will be cremated and buried in the Husk family cemetery.

Mr. Alfred Allen Cantrell Sr., 77, of Procious, passed away January 11, 2018, in CAMC General Division.

Alfred was formerly employed by Ford Motor Co. and former co-owner of Cantrell Florist for 25 years. He is a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Maysel, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlie and Virginia Hudson Richards, and her husband, Rev. Robert Lee Elmore.

She was a member of the Mammoth Advent Christian Church.

He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a hairstylist. Larry enjoyed singing, writing and organizing plays for his Church. He enjoyed cooking for his family, church family and Evangelists visiting the Church.

Joan Ashley, 82, of Clendenin, went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 8, 2018, at home with her family surrounding her.

She was the daughter of the late Perry Harrison and Bessie Hall Harrison. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William V. “Bill” Ashley; sons, Randy and Tim Ashley; brothers, Walter, Jack, George, David and Gary.

Joan was a member of the Ladies auxiliary VFW Post 8516. She also attended Rolling Hills United Methodist Church and Thorofare Community Church. (more…)
