Kanawha County, WVa (WCHS/WVAH) — All lanes of Interstate 79 northbound between the Elkview and Clendenin exits were back open about 2 a.m. Wednesday after a tractor-trailer caught fire.
Kanawha County deputies said the driver saw sparks coming from the back of the truck and the cab somehow separated from the trailer.
The driver was not injured.
The northbound lanes of I-79 were closed while crews put out the fire.
The truck was carrying 33,000 pounds of copper.
