Benjamin Robert Holcomb, 90, passed away in the Lord’s loving arms on December 28, 2017.Robert was born December 11, 1927, in Charleston. After graduating from Elkview High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps during World War II, serving on Guam and Iwo Jima. He had a passion for life, love of God, Country and his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying radio controlled airplanes and loved his WV Mountaineers, NASCAR, and his country music.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Geneva; his two daughters, Debbie Mason and Wanda Gaydos; his two sons, Dale and Jan Holcomb; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Robert, Samantha, Kristopher, Benjamin, Beverly, Geneva and Maria; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Frank Harrington officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 1, 2018, at Hafer Funeral Home.
