Herbert Alfred Hunt, 89, of Elkview, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He was a retired Supervisor with Union Carbide and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Herbert worked evenings and attended WV State College, where he graduated with two degrees. He attended Charleston Baptist Temple for several years, loved golfing and planning reunions for his High School Class of 1946, his family and the 449th Army Batallion.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Chauncey McKinley Hunt Sr. and Buna Myrtle Stalnaker Hunt; siblings, Leo Leonard Hunt, Chauncey McKinley Hunt Jr., Don Clifton Hunt, Dietz Dean Hunt, Levi Edison Hunt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Edna Gertrude (White) Hunt; brothers, Paul Payson Hunt and Oliver Richard Hunt.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Elk River Church of the Nazarene, Charleston, with Pastor Randy Ledsome officiating. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the Hafer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
