Karen Lynn Burdette, 61, of Clendenin, passed away December 19, 2017, at Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness.
She was the daughter of the late William McKinley Carnell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Burdette; daughter, Jamie Lynn Burdette; and brother, Wayne Collins.
Karen was a member of the Clendenin Advent Christian Church. She also worked at Speedway, Liberty Tax and Tele Spectrum.
She is survived by son, David Matthew Burdette of Clendenin; mother, Wilma Gay (Collins) Carnell of Walton; brother, Mike Carnell of Thomson, Ga., and Joe Carnell of Jamesville, N.C.; sister, Mary Turner of Walton; grandchild, Eric Lee Burdette.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin. The funeral will follow the visitation at Matics Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be at the Barnhouse Cemetery, Cottontree Road, Walton, at a later date.
