Lewis Clinton Summers, 76, of Elkview, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He was retired from Columbia Gas Transmission, Inc., and a 50-year member of the Walton Masonic Lodge 150 AF&AM. After retiring, Lewis liked to work around the house, mowing grass and spending time with his family. He served his country in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay Summers; parents, Robert Thornton Summers and Nellie Taylor Summers; foster parents, Cyrus Helper, Zubie Helper and Clara Helper Carper; brother, James Larry Reed.
Lewis is survived by his loving children, Rebecca (John) Summers Rogers of Elkview, Lori (Jacob) Nichols of Elkview; brother, Kenton (Phyllis) Summers of Beckley; sister, Susie (Paul) Cummings of Walton; grandchildren, Cameron and Colleen Rogers, Salem and Zoey Nichols.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Canterbury-Droddy Cemetery, Walton, with Military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 26, at the funeral home.
