Mary Dorcas Litton, of Charleston, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. Born April 19 in Clendenin, she was the daughter of Frederick and Ethel Gandee Cantrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis “Bud” Litton; son, Jim Litton; sisters, Gladys Mullins and Maysel Hope; brothers, Frankie, Georgie, Ted, Gene, Bob and Mayford Cantrell.

Mary faithfully attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Charleston, where she was a member for over 40 years. Mary came from a musical family and this benefited her church where she sang in the choir.

Mary and her husband enjoyed camping and traveled extensively throughout the continental United States.

She is survived by her daughters, Connie (Tim) Medley and Cathy (Bill) Oscanyan of Charleston; daughter-in-law, Lisa Litton of St. Albans; six grandchildren, Bart Medley, Robin (Bubby) Johnson of Charleston, Mike (Therese) Oscanyan, Nick (Katie) Oscanyan of Morgantown, Jeremy and Macy Litton of St. Albans; four great – granddaughters, Audrey and Chloe Johnson of Charleston, Cailyn and Savannah Oscanyan of Morgantown; sisters, Opal Groves of Spencer, Ruby Miller of Lincolnton, N.C.; brother, Tom (Teresa) Cantrell of Harrisonburg, Va.; and her dog, Spotty.

Funeral service will be 5 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Jesse Waggoner and Pastor Dave Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow the service in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
