Peggy Ann Shamblin, 80, of Clendenin, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, at CAMC Memorial after a short illness.
She was the daughter of the late John A. Short and Ruby Wilkinson Short. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary A. Shamblin; son, Michael Dewayne Shamblin; and sisters, Sue Carey and Jean Cobb.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clendenin. She loved her children, grandchildren and loved to cook, especially for the holidays.
Peggy is survived by sons, Rick (Seymour) (Lori) Shamblin and Randy (Lisa) Shamblin; sisters, Carolyn Justice and Doris Hardy; grandchildren, Lyndsey Nicole Shamblin, Madison Jo Shamblin, Jaclyn Raines, Stacy Grimes, Kelly Thaxton, Samantha Ellis and Whitney Stacy; six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 16, at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin, with Pastor Nahum Balser officiating. Burial will be in Shamblin Cemetery, Clendenin, at a later date.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
