David Wayne Woods, age 59, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018, at Mon Health Medical Center. David was born in Charleston, on April 25, 1958, a son of the late Hansford “Ray” Woods and Dolores Darnell Woods.
David worked as a truck driver for Old Castle, formerly Central Supply, and attended Avery United Methodist Church. In his free time, David was an avid WVU fan and enjoyed cheering on the Mountaineers. His greatest pleasure was Fort Myers Beach in Florida where he and his wife, Brenda, were married and where they were planning on retiring in the near future.
David is survived by his wife, Brenda Cunningham Woods; daughters, Stephanie Dawson and husband Michael of Kenova, and Stacie Emert and husband Steve of Oakland, Md.; step-daughter, Renee Lucas of Wheeling; step-son, Scott Lucas and significant other Natalie Sifuentes of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sister, Debbie Clendenin and husband Rick of Clendenin; brother, Michael “Tom” Woods and wife Debbie of Oakland, Md.; grandchildren, Alec Emert, Skyler Emert, Madison Emert, Luke Dawson and Caelan Dawson; and parents-in-law, Marlyn and Gladys Cunningham.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home in Morgantown from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 8. Graveside services will take place in Sardis, Ohio, at a later date.
