You can spend all day on the mighty Elk River. Whether it be kayaking, tubing, fishing, or on a paddle boat, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Out-of-towners and residents alike often enjoy the stretch of the river that flows between Camp Creek Bridge and Queen Shoals.  One Clay county resident had an idea to open a business that would allow more people to enjoy West Virginia’s great outdoors.  That’s how Steven Grau, Queen Shoals, got started with his newly opened business, The Elk River Get-A-Way.  He wanted to open a business to meet new people and share his love for the river.

The Elk River Get-A-Way is located on the Elk River between Camp Creek bridge and Queen Shoals. He offers packages designed to help maximize your river experience. If you are interested in kayaking, canoeing, fishing the “Muskie channel,” or a lazy afternoon of paddling with your family, he has the equipment and services right for you. Grau offers top of the line equipment to fit your needs as well as shuttle services to make your day less hectic and stress free. You can utilize the shuttle services if you have your own kayaks as well. Customers also have exclusive access to a one of a kind activities park in Beulah.  This park features activities such as volleyball, tether ball, horse shoes, corn hole, frisbee, golf, and a picnic area to enjoy.

A day on the river is fun for the whole family but it makes everyone hungry. Not a problem there either. The County Line Get-A-Way restaurant is located right next door. John and Trina Bishop offer a great selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options to keep you fueled up while enjoying your day. This quaint little dinner is open 24 hours and a great place to grab a bite or stock up before your head out for the day.

Get out and enjoy what West Virginia and Clay County has to offer! You can contact the Elk River Get-A-Way on their website at elkgetaway.com or by calling 304-993-0006.
