BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Junior Emilee Henry of the Concord University women’s track and field team has been tabbed as the Mountain East Conference Female Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Henry clocked two top-three times in the MEC this season in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at the Coastal Carolina Invite.
The Elkview, West Virginia native ran 26.11 seconds in the 200-meters and finished 11th as she posted the second-fastest time in the conference for the outdoor season. In the 100-meters, Henry sprinted to a time of 12.65 seconds and placed 16th at the CCU Invite. Henry’s 100-meter time is the third best in the MEC in 2018.
Henry was also on Concord’s 4×400-meter relay team that combined for a time of 4:15.28 which is the fastest time in the MEC outdoor season.
The Mountain Lions are back in action at the Shamrock Invite in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina starting Thursday.
