DUCK, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — West Virginia State Police and the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating after a man set a home and business on fire and then fatally shot himself in Clay County.
BREAKING: State Police investigating a strange suicide in Clay. Troopers say this morning Lante Wiseman set his home on fire as well as his family’s business Wiseman Furniture. Lante then shot his family’s dog before turning the gun on himself.

State Police said Lante Wiseman, 73, set his home in Duck on fire Sunday morning, as well as his family’s business, Wiseman Furniture. Troopers said Wiseman then shot his family’s dog before turning the gun on himself.
Family members told troopers Wiseman was showing signs of possible Alzheimer’s.
Fire marshals said both the home and store are total losses.
